This week the new cohort of start-ups started 🚀 at Birdhouse and as a mentor I've been lucky enough to coach several companies over the past years and what strikes me every time is that the CEO's (the boss that is 😉 ) of a company is crucial for the future. And certainly in today's day and age, where evolution is racing by at a rapid pace and you constantly have to be able to adapt to your target group (and don't forget your internal target group).

Most CEOs will say: "yes, but I am not the company, we are a whole team". 💥 Fair enough, but if the captain of a ship sticks to the way you work, then you may still be with a team, not much will change. And therein lies the difference with startups, they are obliged to regularly hold a mirror up to themselves and make a "pivot" where necessary for the benefit of the company. This mentality is so crucial in every company because, dear management, you cannot know everything, you are probably also spending more than 70% of your time trying to solve yesterday's problems and that is normal, we call this the "rat race" and the captain of the ship sometimes lapses into micro-management (because the rat race is not solved), which makes the whole ship slow down and in some cases, even go backwards.

🎯How can you then give your company a proverbial redoubt? Well by getting guidance from professionals who have years of experience in growing businesses, who will hold up the necessary mirror to you without falling into horizon 5,6,7,8,9 strategies that never happen anyway.
